Leather Workshop Switzerland: Knowledge, Craftsmanship and Genuine Insights

What makes leather sustainable? How is it made and how can you work with it responsibly?
In a time where terms like "genuine leather" or "sustainable" are often used arbitrarily, we focus on one thing: transparency. Because only those who understand where leather comes from and how it is processed can make conscious decisions - whether as a consumer, designer or company.

Why we offer leather workshops

Leather is a fascinating material – durable, versatile and steeped in history. But its origin is often invisible. This is exactly where our leather workshops in Switzerland come in: We don't just want to inform, we want to create understanding. For processes, for supply chains, for connections.

With solid knowledge from agriculture, craftsmanship and design, we offer formats that enable a real understanding of the material - honest, approachable and practical. Our goal: to question old ideas, debunk myths, and open up new perspectives.

Workshop series "The Path of Leather" - together with MARAI

We're especially proud of our collaboration with the Swiss label MARAI: “Path of Leather” is a series of workshops that takes you on a very special journey – from the pasture to the finished product.

In small groups, we open up places that are normally closed to the public:

  • You'll visit farms and learn about animal husbandry and cycles

  • At the tannery, you'll experience how a raw hide turns into leather

  • In the studio, you can design your own piece – with your hands, your heart, and your newfound knowledge.

These leather workshops in Switzerland are more than just an event; they're an invitation to take a closer look, get involved, and ask questions.

Upcoming event: "From Tanning to Craft" on 28.08.2025

Leather know-how in three modules

Our three modules give you the opportunity to understand leather in all its depth – from its origin to its application, from an overview to the details. Designed for anyone who wants to design consciously, make informed decisions or acquire new knowledge – whether as a private individual, designer or company.

The modules were developed and are led by Nina Conrad, initiator of Regionales Leder, sustainability expert and consultant for textile and animal supply chains. With her many years of experience in agriculture, crafts and design, she bridges the gap between theory and practice and shows what it really means to understand leather.

"Anyone who works with leather takes on responsibility. Knowledge is the first step." – Nina Conrad

Each module can be booked individually or as a package – online or on-site, flexibly adapted to your needs.

Want to dive deeper, plan a workshop, or are you interested in a presentation, panel, or joint format? We look forward to your inquiry and to sharing knowledge, opening perspectives, and creating new paths together with you.
