Leather Workshop Switzerland: Knowledge, Craftsmanship and Genuine Insights

What makes leather sustainable? How is it produced and how can it be used responsibly?
At a time when terms such as "real leather" or "sustainable" are often used arbitrarily, we focus on one thing: transparency. Because only those who understand where leather comes from and how it is processed can make conscious decisions - whether as a consumer, designer or company.

Why we offer leather workshops

Leather is a fascinating material - durable, changeable and with a deep history. But its origins are often invisible. This is exactly where our leather workshops in Switzerland start: We don't just want to inform, we want to create understanding. For processes, for supply chains, for interrelationships.

With in-depth knowledge of agriculture, craftsmanship and design, we offer formats that enable a genuine understanding of materials - honest, approachable and practical. Our aim is to question old images, debunk myths and open up new perspectives.

Workshop series "The way of leather" - together with MARAI

We are particularly proud of our cooperation with the Swiss label MARAI: "Weg des Leders" is a series of workshops that takes you on a very special journey - from the pasture to the finished product.

In small groups, we open up places that would otherwise remain closed:

  • You visit farms, learn about animal husbandry and cycles

  • In the tannery, you will experience how raw hide is turned into leather

  • In the studio, you create your own piece - with your hands, your heart and your new knowledge

These leather workshops in Switzerland are more than just an event, they are an invitation to take a look, help shape things and ask questions.

Upcoming event: "From tanning to design" on 28.08.2025

Leather knowledge in three modules

Our three modules offer you the opportunity to understand leather in all its depth - from origin to application, from overview to detail. Designed for anyone who wants to consciously design, make informed decisions or acquire new knowledge - whether as a private individual, designer or company.

The modules were developed and are led by Nina Conrad, initiator of Regional Leather, sustainability expert and consultant for textile and animal supply chains. With her many years of experience in agriculture, craftsmanship and design, she builds bridges between theory and practice and shows what it means to really understand leather.

"Anyone who works with leather takes responsibility. Knowledge is the first step." - Nina Conrad

Each module can be booked individually or as an extension - online or on site, flexibly adapted to your needs.

Would you like to delve deeper, plan a workshop or are you interested in a lecture, panel or joint format? We look forward to receiving your inquiry and to sharing knowledge, opening up perspectives and shaping new paths together with you.
