Leather in Architecture? Yes – Absolutely.
Some materials speak to us on a deeper level — through touch, scent, texture, and presence. Leather is one of them. Although used for centuries, we’re witnessing a quiet shift: leather is taking on a new role in architecture and interior design, no longer just a decorative accent, but a genuine design element.
Our leather is vegetable-tanned, naturally structured, soft and full of life. It tells stories of the landscapes it comes from, the animals whose hides we were entrusted to transform into a lasting material, and the people who process it with respect.
Leather in interior design? Yes - and it makes sense.
In one of our projects, our leather was used for custom cabinet handles.A small detail at first glance – but with big impact. Because exactly in the places where hands reach out daily, where materials are not just seen but felt, leather reveals its true quality: It grows more beautiful over time. It doesn’t mind being used – in fact, it embraces it, developing a rich patina. It stays warm, tactile, grounded.
The interior design itself is minimal – bright surfaces, natural materials, clear lines. And then: leather handles. Not as contrast, but as an invitation. To touch. To pause. A conscious material choice, not an afterthought.
Spaces That Feel Right
We believe that spaces should be more than just backdrops. They should touch us – emotionally and physically. Whether on walls, furniture, or in small details: leather adds depth, warmth, and texture. It grounds a space. It changes over time – just like the people who live or work in it. Our leather remains open-pored, breathable, and evolves with its environment. Thank you to the team at Mirlo Urbano for this beautiful collaboration and for trusting our materials.
Craft Over Surface
Our leathers are made from a raw material that is otherwise often disposed of: Hides from animals from regional meat and milk production. Instead of burning or throwing them away, we process them into something durable. It is not a mass product - but a consciously chosen material for people who want to combine design with attitude.
A beautiful example of how materials with attitude shape spaces. Fancy designing your own projects with leather? We'll be happy to help you. Write us an email.
