What is semi-aniline leather?

Our garment leather is a so-called semi-aniline leather. This means that it is given a light pigmentation - a thin layer of color that protects the leather without covering its natural surface. The surface thus remains largely natural, the pores of the leather remain open.

This coating is ideal for protecting the leather from moisture, dirt and abrasion - which is particularly useful for garments that are worn on a daily basis and are subject to corresponding wear and tear.

In contrast to overdyed or heavily coated leather, the natural structure of the hide remains visible. Every crease, every pore and small irregularity tells us something about the animal and brings the material to life.

Our finish consists of water-based components and is free from harmful substances, so it protects the leather without sealing it - keeping it breathable, soft and skin-friendly.

A good finish is therefore not a contradiction to naturalness, but a prerequisite for ensuring that leather clothing remains beautiful for a long time - even if it is worn as it is intended: close to the body, in everyday life, in life.
